Our Goal

LawTopix was founded with one goal in mind – to get trustworthy legal information to the public for free. We also recognize that this site serves as a crossroads for the general public, businesses, other organizations and lawyers from all backgrounds.

LawTopix was founded by a practicing lawyer who recognized a need that wasn’t being fulfilled. People need access to good legal information without the hassle and expense of a membership site or having to provide their contact information. Lawyers often need to refer clients to other lawyers who practice in a different area of law or different region. Most lawyers do not know another lawyer for every area of law or every region. This website is designed to aggregate and organize large amounts of useful legal information, serving as a springboard for referrals and networking among lawyers and the public.

Why LawTopix?

The yellow pages are dead. Most people don’t feel comfortable dropping their finger on a listing in a phonebook when they need a lawyer. LawTopix allows you to do some preliminary research on the topic you are interested in and provides assurance that the lawyer is familiar with that area of law before you contact them. You can’t get this kind of information from a phone book. Plus, LawTopix is your one-stop site for a variety of regions.

Our Content

We don’t allow filler or useless material on the site. Lawyers write all of the articles on this site.  We do not allow non-lawyers to publish on this site. The articles on this site are written in plain English and meant to be read by everyone. All of the article pages are easily printable so you can take them with you.
